An Iranian citizen, Pouya Tavassoli was born in Munich in 1976. He studied film directing in Tehran and moved to London to study for a Master of Arts in Filmmaking (graduated 2008, Kingston University). He worked in Tehran from 1997 to 2006 as a director, producer and editor of television commercials, making more than 30 TV Commercials before he decided to continue his studies in dramatic and narrative film making. Since 2008, he has been working as a film writer-director and has made several short films in London.
